My name is Noname Porter-McShirley. Yup, you read that right. True legal first name: Noname.. . . But it's pronounced no-NAY-mee. I am the sole talent behind Ascending Talent's services, bringing to the table (or the keyboard) a wide range of experience and knowledge. I have worked in fine art and graphic art, and in creative and business writing, both in-house and freelance. In a small company, I've worked at every stage of building child passenger safety seats, from raw material to shipped product; supervised an entire production facility with fourteen employees; helped design, test, and launch a new product; assisted with order-processing, drafting, and website needs, as well as inventory and purchasing; and I kept shipping on-time as annual revenues grew by 25 percent. I've worked in huge factory settings, both as an entry-level temp, and in a team of outside contractors. I've spent a lot of time in book stores--amazingly synchronistic and enlightening things can show up in their clearance isles. And, I love my local library system along with the internet, as endless sources of informative and inspiring material. While currently working both outside the home as well as from my home office, I am a wife, mother, cook, and handy-person, reclaiming the role of housekeeper as our son moves confidently into his place among the working adults.
